Join us for this festive jaunt along the glorious River Thames, sparkling with lights, peppered with mulled wine and cider stalls and scented with the smell of candied chestnuts.
We’ll meet at Charing Cross Station at 11 am, heading for the north bank of the river and along through old-world Wapping, Limehouse and Canary Wharf before passing under the Thames through the Greenwich foot tunnel.
We’ll be able to stop and grab lunch, snacks and a warm cup of something at the market, then we’ll set off along the southern bank, passing through the different urban landscapes of the Thames. As night falls and the city lights up, we’ll reach our destination in the historic warehouse district of Rotherhithe.
For those who can make it, let’s enjoy dinner and a drink or two at The Mayflower pub*. I’ll need to book a space if there are a few of us, so sign up early!
*Since this is a donation-based hike, the cost of dinner/drinks won’t be covered.
