About Moved
Women, female-identifying and non-binary folks have had a long and complex history of non-autonomy over their bodies. Few of us have understood what it's like to experience the kind of mental, physical and earthly alignment that comes to us in the flow of an endurance sport.
And yet, women were made for endurance.
Maybe we don’t feel invited into this world because it is overtly masculine. Perhaps it’s the competitional overtone that makes us feel uncomfortable when we should be able to access the emotional gifts of endurance in a gentler way.
For some of us, embodiment may have been a lifelong struggle. For some of us, trauma may have depleted our confidence and undermined our strength. And that’s what Moved is for — to help us reclaim our nature.
So, let’s not compete. Let’s support. Let’s not run when, in a hyper-speed life, it’s such a luxury to go slowly. Instead, let’s retreat and lean into the incredible things we can learn about ourselves and each other out there in the wild or on the trail when all we need to be is an animal.
Whether endurance means 20 or 100 km to you, to keep moving forward can be truly life-changing.
