Rye Harbour Nature Reserve | 15km | £8

Welcome in the new year with new energy on this elemental Moved hike through the wilds of Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

We'll meet at the station in the ancient town of Rye, where we can pop and grab a coffee and something to take away for lunch before walking to the harbour. Heading for the shore, we’ll explore the beaches and marshland that make up this beautiful area, meandering along the banks of Ternary Pool, the River Rother and the River Brethee, eventually passing by Camber Castle — a trail highlight — built by Henry VIII.

This is a scenic and relatively flat walk, which should be suitable for most fitness levels. And we’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop for a picnic lunch. Bring lunch with you or grab something in town, and do come prepared with 1 or 2 litres of water, some snacks and wet-weather gear.
