Join Moved for this meandering trail from historic Rochester to Maidstone along the breathtaking North Downs Way.
Meeting at Rochester train station at 10:00 am, we’ll grab a coffee and a pastry then head south through the city and out into the rolling landscape of the North Downs Way. We’ll meander through farmland and woodland, with the occasional hill helping us break a sweat, whilst taking in beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
As the terrain can be challenging in places — especially after heavy rain — it’s recommended that you wear good, sturdy hiking boots that you don’t mind getting muddy.
We’ll have plenty of opportunities to picnic in the picturesque fields along the route, so bring a packed lunch with you. And be sure to carry at least 2 litres of water since refreshment stops will be few, if any, along the way.
This is a moderately challenging hike with some relatively steep hills. Please wear mud-appropriate footwear if it’s been raining. And, as always, be prepared for wet weather on the day!
