Essential kit

  • Comfortable, well worn-in hiking boots or trail shoes

  • A 20 - 30L, well-fitting hiking backpack

  • Light trekking trousers/leggings

  • Waterproof jacket

  • Lightweight, moisture-wicking top x 2

  • High-factor SPF

  • Hat

  • Blister plasters

  • Rehydration sachets/tablets

  • Camelpack and or water bottles for carrying minimum 3L water

  • 2x hiking socks for each day (4 pairs)

  • Mini first aid kit (see below)

Recommended kit

  • Sunglasses

  • SPF lip balm

  • Insect repellent

  • Tissues/loo roll

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Power bank & cable

  • Lightweight camping towel

  • Lightweight flip flops for changing into after hiking

  • Hiking pole/s if you have knee troubles

First Aid Kit

  • Blister kit - plenty of Compeed, safety pin, small tube of antiseptic cream and/or sterile wipes

  • Rehydration sachets/electrolytes

  • Antihistamines

  • Pain killers - ibuprofen are good for inflamed joints and muscles

  • KT tape - if you know you have delicate knees/ankles
