Embrace the energy of spring with this vigorous 33km Moved hike following the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters from Eastbourne to Seaford and back. For those not yet ready to tackle the whole hike, there’s the option to finish halfway, at Seaford.
Meeting at Eastbourne Station at 10am, we’ll follow the promenade along the beachfront before segueing inland and beginning our undulating journey over the Seven Sister’s rolling hills. Rejoining the coastal path at Beachy Head, we’ll hug the shoreline as we pass through Cuckmere Estuary and Birling Gap, eventually reaching Seaford — where we can stop for lunch. For those who feel energised, we’ll then turn and follow the coast all the way back towards Eastbourne — crossing the Sisters once more — where we’ll finish.
We’ll have spectacular views for most of this challenging hike, but it’s often windy here. So bring a warm and weatherproof layer if the elements look changeable. There are shops in Seaford where we can grab a picnic lunch, or bring something with you to save a little time.
As always, bring at least 2 litres of water and wear comfy, weather-appropriate footwear. For those taking on the full 33km, it’s worth bringing Compeed or plasters in case of blisters.
