Come fill up on festive cheer with an urban hike along the mighty Thames from Richmond. We’ll begin at Richmond station, joining the river and hiking east with options to end wherever is comfortable for you. Although if you stay to the end there could be a little pre-Christmas pub finish!

Following the river back towards the city, we’ll pass through a long stretch of woodland with views over to Syon Park, Twickenham, then Chiswick across the water. We’ll then cross over the river and make our way through the prettiest part of Hammersmith. Continuing east, we’ll cross the water a few times more to enjoy Battersea Park, then the Southbank, before ending at London Bridge. It’s a big day, but if the weather’s on our side we’re sure to feel cosy by the end of it.

There’ll be loads of chances to stop and grab food and drinks, so you probably only need to bring a litre or two of water and a waterproof if it’s looking murky.
