Join this Moved springtime hike along the Pilgrim’s Trail between the ancient town of Wye and the Cathedral City of Canterbury — through a swathe of woodland blanketed in bluebells.
We’ll meet at Wye station at 10:30am, before heading out of town and up into the gently undulating hills. Before too long, we’ll enter a long stretch of forest which, at this time of year, will be bursting into life with flowers. We’ll most likely be able to forage some wild garlic, too, so bring a bag to carry it home in!
This is one of the most enchanting hikes I’ve done in Kent, and it’s the perfect way to welcome the new season. We’ll be under the cover of the forest for most of the day, but there’ll be a couple of stunning viewpoints and wildflower meadows, too.
This is a moderately challenging hike, and there won’t be much in the way of amenities whilst we’re out there. To that end, bring two litres of water, a packed lunch and some snacks. And, as always, be prepared for wet weather and mud.
